The article published in the Journal of Medical Systems analyses the efficiency of primary care centres (PCCs) in adopting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) devices using a new database on primary care centres in the Basque Region in Spain. The methodology adopted a.o. by Cristiano Codagnone and Francisco Lupiañez in this research allows to explicitly take into account the role of ICT in affecting the efficiency of the health sector, providing useful insights and policy implications regarding the potential role of ICT in the development of a more efficient health care system.
